The City Council approved the formation of a Sustainability Committee in March 2008 to develop policies and strategies to move forward on the City’s commitment to help meet the environment challenges facing local government.

From its creation until November 2009 the committee consisted of Mayor Jim Leland and Councilmember Pat Eklund. In early 2010 a new committee member will be assigned by the City Council, as Jim Leland did not seek re-election.

The committee operates under the Brown Act and all meetings are posted and open to the public. Committee meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month from 6:30P.M. to 8:30 P.M. in Room 3 of the Margaret Todd Senior Center. Agendas and minutes of the meetings are posted on the City’s web site (see below).

For more information on the committee's work, call 415-493-4711, or send email to edunn@cityofnovato.org.
