Mission Statement
The Public Works Department is committed to providing top quality programs, projects and services through the design, construction, maintenance and operation of public use facilities. The Department is dedicated to ensuring that residents, businesses and guests experience a safe, enjoyable and healthy Novato community.
The Public Works Director manages the Department, which is comprised of the Engineering and Maintenance Divisions. These two operating divisions are complementary in achieving the successful design, construction, and operation of the City's public infrastructure.

Engineering One-Stop Shop counter hours, for permits and engineering assistance, are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 11 AM
Please come in during these hours to speak with an engineer.
