The purpose of the One-Stop Shop is to review and issue minor building permits over the counter. It provides an incentive for people to get permits by making the process positive and helpful with only a minimum amount of time being required to leave with a permit. Some examples of One-Stop Shop permits are: decks, fencing (over 6' high), patio covers, minor kitchen or bathroom remodels, window replacements, water heater and furnance replacements.

One-Stop Shop also provides informational services oriented to citizens contemplating minor or major building projects, providing a block of time when people can come to the City and talk to representatives of all divisions reviewing building permits.

Code enforcement issues requiring permits are also handled during the One-Stop Shop hours.

Note: Non-exempt contractors MUST bring a copy of the Worker's Compensation certificate EACH time a permit is applied for.

A representative from Planning, Building, and Engineering will be available to serve at the One-Stop Shop during the following days and times:

Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 75 Rowland Way, Room 110

If minor permits cannot be approved due to discrepancies that are unable to be resolved over the counter, or if the submittal needs more complex review than the time alloted for One-Stop Shop permits, the plans would be entered into the concurrent plan check process for review and approval. If there are no customers during this time, counter staff can collectively review routine permits submitted outside the One-Stop Shop hours. If time allows, staff may review and sign major projects for permit issuance.
